ITIL® is a proven and globally recognized IT service management framework. So, if you want to improve your organization, ITIL training is a great place to start.  ITIL provides guidance that helps businesses leverage information technology to change, transform, and grow.

ITIL began from efforts in the UK Government to standardize technology practices.  The UK Government published the first volumes in 1989.  Then in 2000, ITIL version 2 consolidated the guidance into groups of related practices.  Later, ITIL version 3 introduced the Service Lifecycle approach in 2007.  The 2011 Version 3 refresh included some updates and clarifications.

The latest evolution of the ITIL framework is ITIL 4.  Axelos launched the ITIL 4 Foundation book, course, and exam in early 2019.  Then the ITIL Strategist: Direct, Plan and Improve along with the ITIL Specialist: Create, Deliver, and Support were released in November 2019.  The last two modules of the Managing Professional stream, ITIL Specialist: Drive Stakeholder Value and ITIL Specialist: High Velocity IT, were launched in February 2020.  Axelos released the ITIL Leader: Digital and IT Strategy module in September 2020.  The Extension Modules were released in 2022 (Cloud and Sustainability) and 2023 (BRM and ITAM).  The Practice Manager bundles and individual Practices were released between 2023 and 2024.
