The EPI IT Training Framework provides a broad foundation of the many areas impacting technology operations and technology management.  For example, some of the topics covered include IT strategy, project management, service management, risk, IT security, quality, and technology trends.  The EPI IT Training Framework is aligned to the European e-Competence Framework (e-CF).  There are three defined levels of training and certification:  Operator, Manager, and Director.  Below is more information on each of the three levels.

Grayematter Consulting, LLC, has partnered with EPI to offer these courses as video on demand, including course materials and online certification exam.  We are working with EPI and EXIN to offer the training in a classroom format in the near future.

Certified IT Operator (CITO)©

The Certified IT Operator is the entry level course and certification for those technology professionals at or entering an operational role.  The course is two days.  It covers the fundamental knowledge areas needed at the operational level.

Certified IT Manager (CITM)©

The Certified IT Manager is the second level course and certification for those technology professionals with a few years of experience in IT.  The course is three days.  It covers the knowledge areas needed at the team lead and manager level.

The Certified IT Director is the third level course and certification for those technology professionals with several years of leadership experience in IT.  The course is five days.  It covers the knowledge areas needed at the manager and senior leadership level.

While the topics and depth vary among the courses, you can start with any of the courses.  Pick the course that most closely aligns with your needs.  Then you can add on to your knowledge with another course later.  For instance, you can start with the CITM course first and take the CITO course later.
